Fresh out of business school in the 1970’s with an MBA, Lou started his career in real estate developing subsidized multi-family housing. Through his work with the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development, he became known for building projects on-time and on-budget. In the early 80's Lou started Minco Developement Corporation – a commercial real estate company providing consulting services to lenders, investors, government and municipal agencies, as well as buyers and sellers. In the 1990’s, Lou began developing commercial properties. Combining his urban development expertise with Community Development grants, he leveraged private funding to construct regional shopping centers and commercial and industrial facilities. Known for giving back to his community, Lou has set the standard at Northpoint Realty Developement Corp./Southpoint Realty Developement LLC for a high level of community service. The Salvation Army, Lawrence General Hospital, Greater Lawrence YWCA, Lawrence Boys Club, MVCC United Way, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and more have benefitted from monetary and in-kind goods and services. Throughout his career, Lou has put a strong emphasis on education and understanding the technical aspects of real estate. He has developed his skills in real estate development, appraisal and finance through the Harvard Graduate School of Design AMDP Class V, as well as the Appraisal Institute. Lou is a licensed, certified general real estate appraiser in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, holds his Massachusetts real estate broker’s license, and his Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s license.
